Default Some clarifications

It came to me down the grape vine that some rumors are getting spread about my dog, Mezzon de IC, again. This time is that at the Monographica V working event "the dog wouldn't bite". Normally, I would simply ignore such BS but this time around it was actually turned against the very good people I train with, Bill H. and T. in that the dog supposedly bit before coming to their training and now the dog doesn't.

First off, the dog world is to small and I found out the person spreading these rumors. I know you post here occasionally. What goes around comes around...

Secondly, the training with Bill H. was extremely productive and constructive for Mezzon and I have only excellent things to say about him as a trainer, decoy, and a person.

As I said, if it only concerned me and my dog, I wouldn't care much. But when these lies touch on other people's professional lives I felt i needed to intervene.

I happen to have the whole event recorded Originally I had no intentions of posting it. The handler work (my husband) is abysmal The dog's performance is far from stellar - the dog only had 4 sessions since Christmas and the last one with Bill before this June event was in January. With all honesty if it wasn't for the lenient attitude of the judge, Mezzon came very close to failing it due to the lack of better control on the "OUT". On CCF3 they were given the "do over" because decoy slipped the sleeve before all 3 out attempts were exhausted. However I don't think that the failure to engage is the factor here at all (decide for yourself). Any comments are welcome

Couldnt have been that big of a rumour, I never heard a single thing about it, and not a single person I speak to ( who are MANY) mentioned it either.

While I have to admit this wasn't his best performance as far as bitework is concerned (I was present for the above tests and I have seen him in other videos performing pretty good). But he definitely was down to bite Ish (the decoy) and while the targeting wasn't great he was engaged. I'd just attribute his mono performance as "ring rust" as Z was stating.

Just my humble opinion..

John and Mark thanks for your words.

As to why would someone lie about it question - I have some clues but overall it comes down to bad and dishonest people. Although in this case it was more of the sphere of influence division in the training world more so than the actual slant on the dog. It'll pass over. Thank you again.

I don't know of anyone who has seen Mezzon in person or in videos who hasn't liked him. I know that the video you showed at Cathy's last year was solid, too. For what it's worth, I think he looks like an excellent example of what a working presa should be.

For a scientist-type-guy, Max doesn't do such a bad job with his handling work, either....
