Mission
Our unique long run objective is the safeguard and promotion of the Presa Canario breed in its original characteristics: denomination, functionality, morphology.

1. General statement
This forum is opened and dedicated to all Presa Canario enthusiasts, owners, breeders. We do not agree with the Dogo Canario denomination and Standard, as it determined extensive modifications from the original Standard of 1989. Our main concerns are the safeguard of the correct denomination, of the black coat, of a maximum weight, of the white markings (when not exceeding 30 and in general we are concerned about the safeguard of the functionality of the breed. We will work in any possible directions to fix these issues and follow completely our mission statement, which remains our only objective.

2. Presa Canario & Dogo Canario
As we do not agree with the Dogo Canario denomination and its FCI Standard, this forum is dedicated for those who identifies their dogs just as Presa Canario and that take distance from the Dogo Canario recognition. Since this forum is dedicated to the safeguard of the Presa Canario in its original characteristcs, no links or content intended to promote the Dogo Canario breed will be tolerated. With this, we do not want to discrimine people or dogs, we just want to educate about the genuine and original characteristics of the breed which should never have been changed. The Presa Canario has a solid legal basis, as it is recognized by the Spanish Law - Real Decree 258/2001 and Real Decree 1557/2005 - and it is also officially recognized by the UKC in the United States of America.

3. Breed betterment
We believe the two main monuments of breed betterment are Hip Dysplasia screening and temperament testing. For this we have two dedicated forum for the listing of the dogs who have their hips officially tested and for the dogs who obtained any official working brevet. We admire, support and encourage any type of work in these two directions, provided that our Mission is fully respected.

4. Conformation shows
We think functionality comes first, as the Presa Canario has been originally intended as a functional animal first of all, this is history and nobody will be ever able to change it. We would like to inform people that this is the genetic pool that we must safeguard, of which we are responsible in front of the future, as custodians. Said this we do not discrimine in any way those people which attend conformation shows of Presa Canario, even if we believe that the present days confromation shows, when not matched with a functionality test, are the main responsible of the breed deteriorment.

5. Litters and sale of dogs
This forum is not intended for selling litters, nor for selling adult dogs. Please do not post any thread intended to such aims or it will be immediatly removed and an infraction will be notified to the user.

6. Attachments
The attachments uploaded on ElPresa.com Forums should not be used by third parties on other websites without requesting permission to the original uploader. And in any case a link or a credit to the original forum where the image was taken from should be always given. The ElPresa.com Forums Admins, hosting these attached images, have the right to use the uploaded attachments for any content of the website, for the purpose of community promotion or for any research project about the breed.

7. Posting rules
7.1
Only one account per person is permitted.

7.2
The Board Rules are the same for all the members, dependless of their Usergroup (be them Registered Users or Contributor Members).

7.3
ElPresa is about people. You are politely invited to present yourself when you join the forum. You can participate also without presenting yourself, but no accusations and diffamations made by anonimous users will be tolerated

7.4
Depending on the context of the discussion, when any of this forum rules are not respected, the moderators will have full discretionality in the choice of the infraction. Critics to moderators activity and to their decision should be made in private form using private messages or email, never in a public forum.

7.5
Keep all commentary civil, and be courteous at all times. Constructive criticism is welcome, but insults directed towards other users or the site admins will not be tolerated. Coarse/insulting language will not be tolerated.

Settle your disputes in private please.If you feel a post violates any of these rules, or you need to bring it to the attention of a moderator (move threads/close/split), please use the ‘report to modertor’ link to notify the moderators.

Follow these rules as far as message contents is concerned. Links or contents aimed at promoting or making reference to the breed Dogo Canario are not permitted and won't be tolerated. No commercial advertising is permitted.Any posts deemed to be self promotion, advertising, or spam can and will be removed. This is not a place to promote ideological, religious, or political matters. All such discussions will be deleted/closed. Do not link to any site that contains adult content, sexually oriented material or might otherwise be considered offensive. Do not propose/link to any site that contains warez/copyrighted software/materials that can be downloaded illegally. Any post containing an inappropriate link will be deleted and the poster will receive a warning.

7.8
Do not astroturf or pretend to be/represent somebody else. Your account will be deleted if found to be in breach of this rule.

7.9
Please do not SHOUT, do not write in CAPS letters, nor in subjects, nor in posts.

7.10
Use your own words. If you wish to use the words of somebody else, quote them, citing the source. Plagiarism is unethical.

7.11
Post your comment/question to the most appropriate place. Any posts deemed to be in the wrong forum will be moved. Do not cross-post the same question to multiple places.

Check that your question has not been answered anywhere else on the site. Use the search feature.

7.13
Keep all posts on-topic.

7.14
Choose an appropriate subject line. Try to summarise the problem briefly in the subject, and elaborate in the message itself. Repeat the subject in the body if it will make things clearer. Do not use all caps and do not add false information just to get attention. Do not use a URL as a thread title.

7.15
There is no case in which is possible to have a refund of the donation sent to subscribe as a Contributor Member, nor in those cases in which the account is suspended or terminated due to disrespect of the board rules.

8. Signatures and avatars
Any signature or avatar that is offensive or insulting to either us, our members, or our staff, are prohibited. We reserve the right to ask you to change and/or remove your signature or avatar at any time, for any reason.
