Tutorial Introduction
In these forums, you are allowed to upload images as attachments.
For various reasons, for example because your image is too big or because it contains details you do not want to show, or because you want to upload only a detail of an image, you may be interested in cropping an image.
In this Tutorial we will use a freeware software. It means you do not have to pay nothing to download and use it, it is absolutely free.
This software is called FAST STONE IMAGE VIEWER (http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm).

Cropping images using Fast Stone Image Viewer.

Through this tutorial we will see how to crop an image using Fast Stone Image Viewer.

1. Let's consider this image (which in its original size (http://utenti.lycos.it/elpresa/images/bottle.jpg) is 1920x1200 pixels, pretty big).

Suppose we are member of a forum of Bottle Collectors and we want to post this image, but we just do not care about the rest of the image, we just want to post as attachment the picture of the bottle. So we will need to crop the image with Fast Stome Image Viewer.

2. If you still do not have Fast Stone Image Viewer: download the software here (http://www.download.com/FastStone-Image-Viewer/3000-2192-10324485.html?part=dl-FastStone&subj=dl&tag=button) and install it on your PC. It is a pretty light software which won't harm your PC performance. Then open the software by clicking this icon which should be placed on your desktop

3. Once you have opened Fast Stone Image Viewer, select the file you want to crop, and then move your cursor above the highlighted button "Crop Board".

5. Clicking your left mouse button on any area of the image and dragging the mouse, will let you buid the crop area. Notice that you can set the desired values in the fields on the left, under the image preview, as highlighted in the image. When you are happy with you crop area, just click, as highlighted, the button "Lossless crop to file".
