Is a American Allaunt the same as a Presa? Why do they look so similar? [Archive]

I was looking online and ran accross an American Allaunt and cant find out much about it! Whats up with them resembling Presas so much? Im a SUPER proud owner and trainer of my Presa and dont like people making new breeds playing god that are this close to our beloved breed.. Any insite will be appreciated. thx

I have done some research and found out that the Allaunts may be Intimidating in appearance, But they are not as strong on the regular and tenasity was lacking in the "Hunt Game". I doubt I will ever own one, but I will NEVER trust one to hold a 350+lb Wild Boar during hunting! I am a lover of all animals and love their purposes even more. Im the kinda guy that bought a Range Rover to climb mountains, Bought a Corvette to Race, and bought a motorcycle to ride it like I stole it! Its a slap in the face of the developers of these things including my breed if we disreguard all thier research, development, and hard work to create something for a specifc purpose and not use it for that, I think anyways! I know some dogs were bred to fight but I draw the line at sacrificing a life of anykind for sport. Accidents happen hunting and racing and those I can accept! But I know I will never deliberately put my dog in a unfavorable situation unless I feel my lifes in danger! After all, he is a guard dog and I completely trust my dog to protect me at any cost...
