SO...

Due to the economy, (or at least that's the excuse) Owner surrenders are increasing, dog dumping is increasing, dogs are being dumped/seized in worse shape then ever. Many of them are pedigreed, and are older dogs now needing to find new homes...

Our volunteer base is very small, and cannot cover the needs of all these dogs, many of which are in this situation through no fault of their own... PLEASE Volunteer to foster if you can. Please think of the dogs in rescue if someone you know is looking for one.

PLEASE NOTE..we have volunteers from DCCA, UPPCC, IAPC and people belonging to no club helping us. We do not differentiate between dogs in need, nor do we hold breed politics against each other when dogs are dying daily for lack of commitment and care. We WELCOME any and all volunteers...presarescue.com

Puppies are not always available, so we ask that you consider those older dogs who have given their best to someone who didn't return the favor...

This is Italy, you will have seen her in another post. She was picked up as a stray, pregnant. She was rescued by a Maryland SPCA before euthanasia for her and her unborn puppies. Most of the puppies have been adopted, and adoption is pending on the last two, but no one's offered to rescue this good momma... She is a very agile dog, would be great for an active adult. She is currently fostering in a house with kids, in Virginia

This girl was put out of a car, on the side of a highway in West Virginia. Animal Control officers brought her to a local vet, that contacted us. We do not have a foster home or resources for her, but are looking for someone else who might be abel to take her in. She has a bad case of D. Mange and a seconday skin infection. The vet has been taking care of her, and says she's ready for a new home.

Dog was microchipped in july 2005 at nine weeks old, in Homestead Florida. He can be flown to Fla because they have connections in Delta airlines. Looking for someone to foster...

ON PETFINDER...
The dog's name is Jager. He is a 2 year old Presa Canario. He is fawn with a black mask and natural ears. He is good with other dogs (lived with a shih tzu) and great wih children. Not protective and is a very sweet boy. He is mostly housebroken due to the fact that he has lived outside 24/7 for the past couple months. Before that he was strictly indoors. Anyone who is interested in him please havethem call Tina at 540-322-9422 or email Allformypits@yahoo.com. Thank you very much!

Goliath, California
"GOLIATH is a male/neutered, purebred Presa Canario. He is approx. 5 yrs. old but don't let his tough dog looks fool you. This big guy is about as gentle as they come. He is very well behaved in the house and a really laid back guy that is quiet and just wants to cuddle. Though he is polite around dogs and cats and pays no attention to them, he needs to be the only dog in the home. He is an indoor dog ONLY and likes going outside for a bit to lay in the sun. He sleeps with my teenage daughter and loves every minute of it. He is excellent on leash and LOVES car rides. He can be a tad bit standoffish at times (typical of the breed) so small children wouldn't be the right situation for this dog. Any mother could be assured that her daughter would feel safe with Goliath by her side despite the fact that he does not act aggressive. Its just his presence that tells the bad guys..."back off!". Goliath weighs over 100 lbs but he's still our little angel boy. "

It gets me every time when I see animals like this!! Especially when at some stage of their life they belonged to and were the responsibility of someone.

I hope people have been showing interest!!

Actually, no. No one has. No one has shown any interest in any of these adult dogs, nor in volunteering to help the effort. I have gotten more applications on the puppies, but just the puppies.

Sorry, I did forget to mention that Goliath in CA, has probably found a home by the rescue that has him.

We also have a new addition(s)...

Isabella is a Pride Rock dog, about 6 yrs old whose owners are looking for a new home for her, and possibly her housemate Diego.

She is the cropped one.
