My presa ate TONS of raw eggs, no salmon (to $$$) but he ate many other fish whole and had no issues...except fish breathe!

The raw eggs issue as far as i'm concerned isn't a big deal. I just make sure that the eggs I buy are organic, and don't go over giving them raw egg more than 3 times a week. Off the top of my head, I think there is literature out there on why people think feeding raw eggs are an issue - obviously other than the concern for salmonella, the issue is that one enzyme or something or other in eggs inhibits vitamin B absorption (or decreases it)....sorry, i'm off my game today :p

as for salmon, I do get why it would be a harmful food if there are live parasites in it, and both farmed or wild caught salmon are often intermediate or ultimate hosts for an array of parasites. If you feed it raw, feed it previously frozen.

I have fed my dogs raw mackarel, sardines, and other fish including salmon...they love it! The one thing I do ensure is that the fish they eat has been previously frozen...

Raw WHOLE eggs are fine; in fact good for dogs. The problem is if you feed egg whites only. Raw egg white contains a substance called avadin, which will bind up biotin (a B vitamin).

Good news though, the yolk is so abundant in biotin, that this is not an issue. Feeding raw egg whites is only a problem if you feed lots and lots of plain egg whites.

Salmon disease is a parasite that attacks the gastrointestinal tracts of dogs after they eat raw salmon. The canned salmon is fine for dogs; but pricey.
