anyone rabbit hunt with their dogs? I finally got a chance to take out both my male and female to the local feild and let them run lose, my boy is fast for 100 lbs but my female is much faster, even tho she has had an FHO surgery on her right rear leg she is still very fast, my boy has never caught a rabbit he chases them, but my female got one today. Makes me wonder just how much faster she would be if she never had to get that surgery on her leg(she was hit by a motorcylcle a little over a year ago.) Any precautions i should take for her catching this rabbit? she is up to date on her shots and all, but im thinking maybe deworm her now that she caught one.

I don't know about rabbit hunting but how about a birddog presa? I hard a bird fly into my house at around 2 the other morning. Bandit jumped up and swatted it out of the air and then grabbed it in his mouth and brought it back to bed with him. Hr just left it in front of himself until it eventually got up and flew back out the door.

My dogs have caught a few rabbits in thier time there are plenty where we live.

It's the squirels they have a hard time with, the little buggers always seem to find a tree just in time.
