Is a nice vid, and this is stated as being an 11 year old Presa. Wonder what competitions, what venues he competed in. I think the decoy will think twice before standing over this dog again. I wonder if it is all Presa.

Nice dog indeed. Only because I have a cane and see him all day long dare I say there may be some cane corso in that dog...
Here's a vid showing a presa-kangal pup and I am curious to know anyone's thoughts/experiences on kangals...what are they like?

I think the only people that have extensive experience with the Kangal are in Turkey. There is however 5 Kangals in Texas apparently. There is a stupid vid of a Kangal fighting a rotty on the net, stupid because of fighting in the first place and second rotty is not a fighting dog anyway, I wont post the link. It is illegal to export Kangals from Turkey. They are a rather large livestock guardian and get very attached to owners, much like the Kuvauz does, from what I have read anyway. I dont see any point in crossing a Presa with a Kangal, seems rather silly to me.

My boss owns a Kangal female, takes care of the clinic at night ;-)
We also judged about 60 dogs some months ago on a big Kangal show here in Holland.
The people of the organisation did invite a Turkish judge, but we helped him with the translation and the judgeing. Learned a lot from this man.
These are no dogs to keep in Western Europe, thats my opinion. They need space and they dont follow up orders very well lol!
We do get a lot of Turkish breeders in the clinic though. So I can say I have seen quite a lot.

Not a bad video but why is the tail cropped?

Thanks for the Kangal info - and agreed, wouldn't want to cross w/ a presa. I don't plan on getting one, just research dogs on the Net in my free time now and then, and did come across some cautionary words on how anatolan shepherds are not kangals and how some pawn them off as kangals or as the same for big bucks. Sound familiar? LOL.
That was a great vid of the presa SFVG thanks for sharing.
L&H - the tail and the prancy gait caught my eye on it maybe being presa/corso. My cane has that same gait and I haven't really seen it elsewhere...

I have competed against this dog, Blitz, and he is a nice dog. He was rescued and had a accident and had to have his tail amputated. I think the owner, Richi located where the dog was from. I think he mainly competed in K9 Pro Sport......and trained with Chris Fraize.

The video and the dog you are talking about is not a kangal. It's a mixed dog.In Turkey every dog of this type is called kangal but this is a big lie. There are many dogs i can show you that is called kangal and the truth is that they are mixed dogs just for fighting. These dogs are called mallaks(i don't know if i spell it right). There is also a bigger dog called boz sheperd dog and because it is known for it's fighting skills, many times they mixed kangals with these dogs.

That being said, I watched the video and it looks more like they were playing. My dogs have fought way harder over a bone.
