So has anybody had their Presa drink continuesly, and are there major health issues? My 6 mo old is still kept in a crate during the day while we are at work. I've had a heck of a time keeping water in there for him. Regular water bowl; he dumps it and racks it on the bars. You know the VERY hard bowls that crimp down on the bars via a wing nut on the outside? Yeah, he ripped that to SHREDS and tossed all the pieces out.

I feel like little water during the day leads to him drinking (possibly)too much later in the evening. And advice?

I always tell people not to put water in the crate. Either it gets dumped or it gets drank and then they have to pee in there.

He should be calm and sleeping in the crate during the day, which means his water needs are going to be minimal. Even dogs that aren't crated and have water available all day will do most of their drinking when the people are home and they are more active.

I have had instances with drivey Presas that will bark continuosly while crated. It is my belief that they become dehydrated with all the barking. Once released it was normal for them to drink up a bunch of water.

If you feed raw (especially) your water needs are cut down significantly. Gen is correct though. A blanket and a toy is all they need in there. Keeping in mind each dog has a distinct personality, some never enjoy the crate (like my current pup) some love it.
