My friend works for the DC shelter and contacted me about a 3 year old male that they have at their location.

You can check out the website of the shelter at: http://www.washhumane.org/adopt/adoptdog.asp

Big Boy (3933492) is an undeniably gorgeous 3 year old Presa Canario (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presa_canario) who was brought in by the local MPD when they found him wandering around the 400 block of 21st Street NE. Contrary to his "tough guy" name, Big Boy is a real gentle giant! Full grown at 87lbs (though he could stand to gain a few in his mid-section), this sweet boy is an incredibly appeasing, gentle, tolerant pup who enjoys human companionship and can be a bit shy at first with new folks. He just needs additional socialization, a common need of his breed, and would do best in a home with owners who have some familiarity with larger dogs. Come down and meet this "gentle giant" today!
