Does anyone know if there are any special procedures for entering Canada (driving across Peace Bridge) into Ontario with a Presa. I understand vet info, shots, and related paper work are required, but has anyone done this already and had any other issues?
Thanks in advance!

Having crossed the border many times and lived on both sides....the ony thing you need is proof of rabbies vaccination but of course having all the paperwork will be good.
There is a website you may access for full details try a search for Canada Customs...

Be careful up there... with the new ban on pit bulls I believe that they can confiscate any dog that looks similar to a pit unless you have proof that it is not. Even if you are just passing through.
Anyone up there correct me if I am wrong, please.

Well Customs can do whatever they want ...really. I have gone back and forth 10-20 times with my guys and Haney especially when he was younger was mistaken for a pit...but I have never had an issue. I'm sure having his registry or veterinary documents with his breed on them will not be a bad idea.
Since you are visiting and not leaving the dog in Canada I cannot see them giving you a hard time. From what I know you can visit with any dog including pit...or bit bull like dog....for extra precaution have leash and muzzle available to show if they ask you.
Since the Presa is not banned they have no legal standpoint with which to dissallow entry for a family dog. They are concerned with health (rabbies)and whether or not the dog is being transported for sale whereupon which they subject you to taxes.
I have contacted Canada Customs which I beleieve is now Revenue Canada and they are quick to respond they also have all details on the website which I do not have now but a quick search should reveal it.
Enjoy your visit!

If you are crossing into Ontario then it would be a good idea to be able to prove the dog is not a pit bull. According to the legislation all an AC officer needs to do is *think* your dog is a pit bull to confiscate it.
Just be careful if you are passing through Midland or Lakeshore as both these towns have bans on the Presa Canario. (Midland is actually any member of the mastiff family).

I'm pretty sure that is incorrect. It has been a while since Ive read the bill in full however I seem to remember the only way one can bring a restricted dog into the province is for a dog show.

You may be right about the dog show but the Presa isn't restricted. I'm sure there won't be any trouble ...like I said I've gone across via car/plan many times through Ontario and most times I never show anything.

I would be a little more cautious about coming into ontario... if you run into the wrong people whos knows what will happen... I have had both people call the cops on me and threaten to call the cops on me, this was either while i was walking or training... people are so caught up in apperance and emotion that they could care less about the facts... My advice is take everything you got to prove he is not a pit.... Fortunatly the cop I had excepted my Vet bill considering I don't have my papers yet
best of luck.... Where I Ontario will you be visiting ?

Oh I realize that the Presa is not restricted...just trying to give this OP as much info about the province as possible. (Plus anyone else who may be reading with a bull breed that thinks they can drive through Ontario)
IMO, A lot of the original hype has worn off however there are still alot of pricks out there that dont like any short haird "muscle dog".

Thanks for the info.
backdrifters; I am originally from Ontario, and I am going to visit relatives. Mostly in Bruce county, near Owen Sound, and Hanover, and possibly to Kitchener area, maybe Toronto as well.
I do have his pedigree papers from UPPCC, and his vet info to bring so proof should be no problem.
Where is Lakeshore?
Thanks again!
