With regret, I'm looking for a permanent home for my presa canario puppy.

BASICS
He is a 5 month old intact male named Mossberg who is a beautiful fawn brindle and weighs in at 60 pounds. This big baby will eventually be around 135 pounds. His ears are cropped and his tail is not docked, as is the standard with presa canarios. He is current on all vaccinations. I do have papers on him that include the breeder's information. Canary puppies are not your typical golden retriever and generally go for $2,000 - $3,000.

TEMPERMANT
Most people think that he looks like a "pit bull on steroids" although not once has he shown aggression towards people, animals, toys or food. He is a very curious baby that goes up to everyone on the sidewalk and has had at least a hundred strangers pet him. I have socialized him extremely well, taking him to Westport around people, loud music, car horns, other dogs, etc. and he has never acted out. He has also been unleashed at a park where others are and he does not leave my side. When other dogs bark at him, his ears perk up and he intently stares. I have NEVER heard him bark. If not exposed to enough people at this age, his courageous dedication to his owner can be harmful as he matures. He is fairly docile and will let me do things like examine his toenails and look at his teeth. I could not ask for a better puppy. He is affectionate, playful, goofy and eager-to-please.

PERSONALITY
Mossberg is a calm, inside dog that knows basic commands, willingly goes into his crate and doesn't mind a leash put on. At the park he'll play fetch but he also loves cuddling on the couch and is the most affectionate dog I’ve been around. When riding in the car, he will lay his head across the console on your lap. He LOVES being around people and people love him – he’s a head-turner for sure. When hyper, he may try to playfully jump so he needs someone who can give him a stern “NO” before he gets so big that he'll accidentlly knock you down. In saying that, if you've never owned a "bully breed," Mossberg is not for you. He is alert and headstrong and although not to be feared, he needs a dominant owner that will be able to assert themselves as the alpha pack leader. He will not go to an inexperienced person nor will he go cheap. His adoption fee is moderate to insure that he will not be put in a fighting ring or become a junkyard dog. And honestly, if you don’t think he's worth paying a reasonable fee, you don't deserve him. With a confidant owner who can give him the time he needs, Mossberg is going to be an ideal dog; he is absolutely devoted to his family.

SUPPLIES
I've spent $350+ on initial pet supplies and everything that will stay with him includes:
XL Crate made for Great Danes ($120 value)
New bed
Hardly-opened large bag of high-quality food
Almost-new box of treats
2 large stainless steel bowls
Leash with traffic handle
2 leather collars
Barely-used pack of large potty pads
Brush
Toys, bone

Please note: Mossberg will only go to an approved home and if I am unable find him a proper one, he will stay with me. I am not looking to get him off my hands, I am simply trying to find a better life for him with an owner that has time to shower him with the affection he deserves.

Additional Information:

I do have the puppy's papers which lists the dam and sire of Traditional Kennels owned by Tomas Rodriguez in Oglesby, Illinois. It lists the dog's sex as male as well as his date of birth as 09/25/2006. He was purchased for $1,500 not including the expense of shipping as well as cropping his ears which was done at a Kansas City, Missouri veterinarian's office. I am also able to supply a print-out from the same veterinarian stating that he is current on all vaccinations. He is not neutered, which would be $127 at his vet if done before he reaches 80 pounds. I'm glad to supply any other information.
