So I sold her a dog that wasnt worth the price I sold it for. If that makes me a puppy miller, so be it. I did not know the dog would not clean up and I did not know the dog would not be healthy.
Whatever else it means, it means "unethical" You dont make people pay on the "come'.. what might be. At least I wouldnt.

Hey, L and H. refers to a post over on the DogoCanario Board and Sabrina's 2500.00 dollar dog and an admission by the breeder.

Wow... I don't know where to start, so I won't, but there is a lot wrong with that whole situation if I read a certain post correctly.

We are all entitled to our opinions. The fact of the matter is Zabrina paid X amount for the dog. Jen sold the dog for X amount of money. No one can predict what the health of a dog is going to be. What would be unethical is if she didn't fix this problem.
So we can all formulate our own opinions, maybe Zabrina or Jen would like to say what really happened rather than taking things out of context.
Again Dennis, I see you hung up on the money issue with this. Honestly who cares how much she paid for the dog. It isn't the issue. The issue was the dog wasn't what she wanted and it got fixed.
If I wanted to sell Presa's for 10,000 and people bought them would that make me unethical? It has nothing to do with money.
And as far as selling dogs "on the come"....lets use your BMW motorcycle as an example. If you bought that bike and everything seemed like it was fine and you got it home and after a month you noticed that something was wrong with the throttle and BMW went ahead and replaced your bike are they unethical? Do you think before you pay you should get to take your bike home with you? It doesn't work that way man.
There are so many breeders out there that are totally destroying this breed yet you are concentrating on someone who replaced the dog, has been candid about its problems on the internet, and who health tests, and works their dogs in a sporting venue....it doesn't add up to me.

I paid $2500 for my dog... I was given a replacement... don't see how that's unethical.

Meredith it is a good a replacement dog was provided of course. The lack of ethics however starts with the initial mentality, and the reasons, "I did not know it would not "clean' up,, (whatever the hell that means) the healthy part is debateable, and this was the "best" of this litter,, I would hate to see the rest of the litter,, if one does not know "if a pup, will clean up" why assume it will and sell the dog for more than its worth? That is all crazy to me.

Oh ok, my bad :) I just thought you meant if a dog comes up sick or whatever then it's unethical of the breeder even when they replace the dog... which is why I didn't understand.
