In your experience are there any general temperment differences between Fawns and Brindles?

I have not been able to discern much, other than how they were raised, between fawn and brindle.

Along the same lines, as your question, would be the dogs with more white are more "fiery" than the ones with less white.

I have witnessed this phenominum, in the whiter pups, in my own litter, and can say that it had nothing to do with training or how they were raised, because the actions that showed the "fieryness" started at such a young age.

Dink is a fawn male, and he was the litter alpha (he was also the biggest male). There was a brindle female that made Dink, look small, but there was another, brindle female with 18.463% white that would whip her and was the "beta" leader of the litter.

Dave's litter that I saw, had a fawn male that was the litter alpha.

Not sure what conclusions could be drawn from these accounts?

Fawn coloring would possibly indicate more mastiff influence, and white possibly more terrier, but what of the brindle? Better mixing?

And of the brindle, the shades and colors of brindle?

Isis, has the bardino brindle which is what most every female in that line has looked like, that I have seen (I haven't seen them all), and this was something, a lot of Medusa and Mefussa lines of dogs had, I think.

I have a buddy that raises curr dogs for hog hunting, and his are usually either brindle or black, he has raised them for his whole life, one line of dogs, for 40+ years, and he says the black dogs have a better nose and range longer on average.

So there has to be something with hair color and how it relates to other characteristics, but I think that the variation in how they are raised and trained make up a much larger percentage of how the dogs turn out than whatever variance in color and the related factors, are probably pretty small, even if they can be seen and proven.

It would be interesting to hear from someone like curto or others that have raised many, many litters to see if they have ever come to such conclusions over time.

My opinion, it is interesting,

I was told that the fawns seemed to have more of the mastino "gentleness" to them. That's all I've ever heard on the subject though, and all I can add to it is that my brindle girl was a b*tch!
