I guess to maybe make this a bit more successful, why not open the question up to any of the "rare" color that occasionally pop up in a litter.
I mean any sane presa loving person could not say a pup is any less a true presa (or Dogo) if it was not a more traditional color (in my humble opinion)
I don't know, I am still pretty new here, so what do others think?

Justin thats going to depend on who you talk to. In my opinion if I know where the dog came from and it was a awsome dog then I couldn't care less what color it is to me that is the last thing I care about. But there are a lot of people who would not agree with me and thats fine. This is also going to depend on what standard you are going to follow. I can see when breeding keeping build structure in mind when breeding becuase that can effect the functionallity of the dog but color has nothing to do with function and it would not be somthing I worried about when I breed. In my opinion its the structure and temp that make the presa a presa not the color.

There have been more white "Presas" born than most people will ever know. Over the years I have become aware of many of them. Some very recent, and many in the past. Much of the character of the Presa comes from early "bulldogs" and many of these dogs were white or a large percentage of white. Originally the Preseros adopted a standard on Las Palmas that allowed 40% White. I would think beyond this percentage too many other bulldog traits appeared ie ... elbows turned out, bowed front end, short muzzle, short legs, curly tails, etc...
I know of white dogs , normally with patches of brindle or black that are very typical outside of color. The question is this..... Is it a genuine throwback or some idiots excuse to sell recently crossed dogs as Presa Canario ? 100% black has always been a part of the standard, 100% white has never been.
Does that mean all dogs that exceed 40,30, or 20 % white are culled ?
Well ...... It depends.

Im waiting on the people from the canary islands to come up with some interesting info on this subject.I have personally talked to quite a few people who have seen this coat colour in presas, most of them in the canary islands, not many in the peninsula, even a personal friend of mine saw one in fuerteventura. If you go around the islands and see one and ask about the dog, they will tell you without hesitating its a presa canario. Most people i have talked to, recall seing these presas in the 50s 60s and 70s in the canary islands, and they all coincide on how impressive, big and fierce they were.

Presas crosses with obvious bulldog influences were called "Bordon" and were more common on Tenerife according to the writings of Manuel Curto.

I have talked to people who have had white pups in there litters and these people are not crossing anything in there lines these are just throwbacks. But what I am getting at is some believe that these throw backs carry not only carry different coats but also different temps. The people I have talked to say they see a more pitbull bullterrier type attitude in these dogs compared to the rest of the same litter. I thought this was pretty interesting.

What exactly is that type of attitude???

A little more active and frisky just more of a terrier attitude. This is just theroy not claiming this as fact.

Tenacity, won`t quit, game, easy going , lovers, fast switch, smart, submissive to human, easy to teach, natural grip, the best traits in the Presa came from the "bulldog" The "Mastiff "element is all structural ie.. physical. The mental attitude was all bulldog, hold , grip , chase, hunt. etc...
Joe F , I ,personally, do not believe that "Razor" was a throwback.
