I came across this rescue yesterday and emailed when I saw it.

Maximus, or as we call him, Blockhead, is one big boy! He is 95lbs. and pretty much solid muscle. He is dwarfed, meaning his legs are a lot shorter than they should be. This doesn't stop him though! He is still as powerful and outgoing as his breed should be!
Max will need to be the only pet in his new home. He would excel in weight pulling or personal protection work. Max will only go to an approved home with previous giant breed experience. He will not go as an outside dog!
They emailed me today with this news:
Unfortunately, Maxmius was euthanized at the shelter due to kennel cough. I had contacted rescues, but nobody could take him.
He came in as a stray "attacking" horses. He never bit any of them and we were not sure he would have, but we weren't taking any chances. We later found that he had been turned over to a rescue because he was dwarfed, meaning his legs didn't grow to their full height. He was correct in every other aspect. We were told he was supposed to be for show and breeding but they could do neither with him and turned him over. The person who adopted him had kids that he was great with but he moved and gave the dog away. Max escaped and that’s when we got him. His new owners never stepped up to claim him.
I wonder if the breeder even knows.
