She is less than 30 mins from me. I have emailed them to see about checking her out with other dogs. I will let everyone know how she is.

I wen tto visit this dog on Thursday last week at the boarding kennel. The kennel manager stated the owner of the dog rights are still protected and that no legal paperwork was filed to place the dog up for adoption. No urgency. She is a bauetiful dog, but due to being in the boarding kennel more than a home, she will need a great deal of reinforcement training. She is easily aggitated by dogs in close proximity. I told the kennel manager to please keep me posted on her availability, which she stated she would.

I have filled out the application required for this girl. I am going to at least take a look and see if it can be worked out. I have a male and live with another dog as well, so if she cant get along with them, I will not be able to help her.

As soon as they give me the chance, I am going to go visit her as well.

Joseph are we talking about the same dog in VA named Coco. If so I do not want to discourage you from adopting her, but she is very dog aggressive. WHen the kennel worker brought her out to the pla area she kept lunging at every dog that was close. Once in the play area she still ran to the fence edge at every bark. I am waitng for the kennel owner to make a decision on the dog. He stated he might not even allow her to be rescued depending on their evaluation. I will keep the board informed. My wife and I are still deciding if we are going to submit a an application as well. I have no dogs iin the home, but she will need much reinforcement training for my wife to handle her.

Ant,

We are talking about the same dog. I am no expert, but in my experience, dogs in shelters often have behavioral problems that are a result of being in the shelter and are relatively easy to overcome. Often the behaviors are relatively new and disappear when the dog is removed from the situation. Dog aggression is, from my experience, a problem that is very common in shelter dogs. I can't say that I know the exact reason for this, but it would make me anxious to be in prison and I would probably be a little more aggressive after the experience.

Like I said, I am no expert. I am going to go visit with her and see what she is like. If I think that her problems can be overcome, then I will probably ask to take her home on a trial basis to evaluate the progress we can make. Luckily, I have a period coming up at work where I will be relatively slow and will be able to be home by 3 most afternoons, so I can give her some extra attention.

If I do not think that she will be a fit in my house, I would be very willing to help you and your wife with the reinforcement that is necessary. I don't know where you are located, but I am living in the Leesburg area. For the third time, I am no expert, but I will help where I can.

Joseph we are in the same area. I live in Frederick, MD area. I made the comments as an observation only. Shse may do quite well outside of the kennel setting. Keep me posted Joseph and thanks for the reply.
