But I have to step back from rescue for a few. I was bit monday night by a fawn male I was trying to take pics of and post for a new home. Thought he might have been good for a "working" home, not a "pet" home, guess I was wrong (the other night was strike 3) he will be put down next week (pending quarantine) I am still a bit shaken by the event, although I work at a vet clinic and have been scared/leary of shitzu's and cockers, I have just never dealt with an actual "schitzo" this dog has been for walks w/me and my kids, played with my females (presas/rotties) kissed me, been bathed. Then he just went balistic. Then he went balistic again. I can see so much anger in his eyes and still so much life/happiness. But he cant be trusted and I need to heal. We can't save them all

Kay, if anybody has paid their dues, you have. I give you props for trying. You are right we can`t save them all and not all deserve saving. The long dirt nap is appropriate in many cases. By not culling, by breeding poor temperment and health ,breeders only postpone the pain and put their resposibilities on someone else and risk the reputation of an entire breed.I hope that you heal up soon and thanks for all your effort.

Sorry to hear about your recent experience. It's sad for both you and the dog. It's traumatic to be bitten, both from the pain, the shock, and the disappointment. At least you know you tried, and that's more than many can say. I hope you weren't hurt badly and heal physically and emotionally really fast.

Kay I am so sorry to hear that you were bit. You have been so faithful to help with the rescues.
Take care and I will keep you and the fawn in my prayers.
