The 2004 K-9 PRO SPORTS Invitational World Championships for Personal Protection Dogs will be held Saturday, October 16, 2004 at K9 Kountry, 4901 E. FM 1187, Burleson, Texas. This year’s World Championships will mark the first time that European contestants have competed for the prestige of winning in an American created dog sport. Dog and Handler teams from across the United States as well as teams from Europe will be competing. The teams were invited to the World Championships based to their accumulation of points earned in Club and Regional Trials throughout the K-9 PRO SPORTS season. In addition, the teams from Denmark have competed in the European Military Dog Championships and finished in the top one percent of that competition, which involved over two thousand teams. Exercises in the competition will include Obedience, Civil Agitation, Defense of the Handler from single and multiple attackers and Courage Tests of the dogs (attacking perpetrators over or through obstacles such as windows, water and maybe even a wall of fire). BE THERE!!!!!!

Just thought I would add a little to Rons post about the truly historic nature of this trial.

Europeans, who created all of the truly recognised
dog trialing systems have been watching the US trials as long as people here have come up with ideas for trials, they have never seen one they would participate in. Until now, there must be a reason for this acceptance.

K9PS has had entries from Europe for years now, and they have all commented on the realism and practicality of our certification system, and apparently went home and commented some more .

This is the first year they have held trials in Europe, allowing them to earn their invitation to the Finals. The calibre of dog they will bring to compete will be what american brokers go to Europe to buy, now they and the men who train them will be here for you all to see, and you don't have to go to Europe or pay a seminar fee or buy a titeled dog to see what they are capable of.

The versatility of these dogs is impressive. 2 of the 3 have recently returned from active duty in Iraq, they are both titled IPO 3 and one of them has beeen a competitor at the world games. So these are dogs that have done it in the street as well as the sports field.

There is a reason international dog trainers of this calibre come to compete at K9PS trials. And you can get here a whole lot cheaper than they can.
BE THERE BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

If you consider, New York, Mass., or Maine northeast, then the answer would be yes.

Thanks,

The 2004 season will be completed with the World Championships in Ft. Worth, Texas. During the 2004 season there were trials in Douglas, MA, Lockport, NY and Fulton, NY. We expect to have trials at these locations plus several more in 2005. Watch the K-9 PRO SPORTS web page,
www.k-9prosports.com for information on events on the upcoming 2005 season.

Anybody else near Texas that can make it ? I`ll try but with my trips to L.A and Utah in September it will be tough. The two W`s may keep me from it. Work and Wallet. I would really enjoy getting out there and seeing some more fine competition.

Genevive, We will post the schedule for 2005 after the finals, so check back. You can always E-me or call 817-483-2026 if you have any questions or need to find a trainer in your area.

SPECIAL OFFER, for "currrent" Presa board members only.

I will post the full schedule for the World Championship week later, but on Friday along with the seminars and training we will have our general membership meeting, and, as everyone will have been working hard we make sure they don't get too wore down for the meeting by having our annual "Chili feed and Beer guzzle" Texas style chili, and beer makes decisions soooo much easier. This meeting is for members only and the feed is free (our way of saying thanks to our members) But, This year if you are a current Presa board participant we will include you in the festivities for the same price zip, nada, nothing, free!!!

With over $3,000 in ca$$$$h & trophies to pay out the K9PS World Championship is one of the richest trials held in the dog world. So come on down and see the best PP/Patrol dogs Europe and America have to show. One meal's on us.
