I have a few dogs I work with occasionally that are clicker trained...I was working one of them this weekend while Hooligan as here and he is petrified of the thing. I mean he acctually yelped like I was wounding him or something...any ideas. I dont use clickers on a lot of dogs but I mean he was terrified even when I was working the dogs in the side yard... I tried letting him smell it and gave treats when he did but he wouldnt come near the thing.

That's kinda how I act when I hear a clicker, go figure! Not all things are for all dogs. If the sound bugs him just use the same system with a voice command, after all a clicker is just a secondary command done with a tool it is all in the timeing.

You can probably get him and Switch together. Do as you have and muzzle Hoolli. Let them both loose in the yard wearing what ever collar they would normally have on, monitor their behavior but don't interfere unless there is an indication of aggression on the part of either dog.

The muzzle may make Hooli a little defensive, could be why he is growling at a passive female, if he continues to growl get someone else to leash Switch and take them to a neutral area and walk them close to each other and monitor his behavior to see if the muzzle is creating a problem.

Thanks Butch that is kinda what we were thinking. I figure he wil be fine eventually. I know I would be cranky as hell if someone put a muzzle on me and put me around someone I didnt know. And as for the clicker..I hate the thing personally ...especially when my 2 y/o finds one and follows me around the house with it.
