Butch, This is my first time,writing in to the fourm,and im presa enthuisist.I'm wondering if you've heard of the animal behavior college[abc],and is it a second rate training school,or does it produce quality trainers...Thanx alot !!!

Sorry Haven't heard of that one. But there are a lot I haven't heard of.
Just ask for references and follw up on them, then do the best you can with what they have to present you.
A long, long time ago when I went to Horse shoeing school I looked for the school with the most references and the one that had the largest number of horses to supply. Like dog training the concepts are pretty basic, so the chance to get really good comes in the oportunity to work with a large variety of animals in a short period of time, you can't learn the breed traits of a GSD and a mastiff if you work with your own Dobe.
If your close to Texas we do an apprentice program for starting out dog trainers. It is a little more flrexible than a school curriculum, you might check with local trainers you respect and see if they have something like that.
