Hey Butch, I have a question for you regarding my nine month old male Presa.
3 nights ago he was hit by an SUV in front of my house. The accident looked quite serious at first, and I actually thought he was going to be dead as I saw him rolling along the street. However he immediately got up and ran for about 3 blocks until I finally caught him.
I took him to the vet, and he spent the night there, nothing was broken, and besides some internal bruising and trouble going to the washroom everything seems to be ok.
Before the accident took place I had him evaluated by Chello, and I was planning on starting full time training with him at the end of the month.
My concern is that, the last couple of days when I've taken him for short walks he seems more nervous then I've ever seen him since I've had him, at one point when we were walking by the place he was hit, he had his tail between his legs for the first time.
Do you have any suggestions for getting him back on track mentally for PP work? and have you heard of dogs that have gone through similar situations?
Mark
