Some of you know that I have recently found a great training club, after a three years of looking for an ideal training sitiuation I found it. Actually a friend of mine found it for me. I am hoping to get some of my owners in Phoenix involved. I now train every Saturday and Sunday , and limp and hurt every Monday and Tuesday. Sam sent me PM today with this link http://hometown.aol.com/oliveraarock/myhomepage/business.html
I am thinking of taking Sancho and Playa out there to see if they have any potential. I think Playa will come out hard with no reservations. I am not sure what to expect from Sancho( He loves PP work) . Both Sancho and Playa love our cat and have no interest in chasing "Rocky" (my daughters Yorkie) I have seen Playa take off after Coyotes with wreckless abandon. It will be very interesting to see what happens. Thanks Sam !! It was a pleasant Surprise ! I have to contact the people who are putting ton the event to see if it will be a one time thing or an ongoing occurance.
I am trying to title Sancho in May and every weekend counts. The Club consensus is that he will not be ready in May but the experience will be good for both of us, They say January is when he will be ready.. I hope so. I hope that you all have a great weekend with your families and dogs.
I wish Joe Brown the best on his trip to Idaho to pick up his new Male ! http://forum.elpresa.com/viewtopic.php?t=1181 It is very nice to see more people ,everywhere, getting out and training in various activities with their Presas. I believe the Presa will emerge as a legitimate working dog in the next two years. BTW Sam is working on some very reasonably priced home training weight pull carts, knowing Sam they will be top quality and well engineered. Contact Sam at
slammin1sam@yahoo.com if you have questions.. I hope that you all have a great weekend . Get out there and do something with them Dawgs ! !

Congrats, Dave!

Congrats, too, to Joe...that dog is GORGEOUS! Let us know how the homecoming goes and if you're still calling him "Brick". I guess we all fall into the potato chip theory now (can't have just one)!

It's been hard to keep this a secret! We are real happy that Joe is getting this dog. Brick Jr. is a perfect match for Joe and Bessie. We wish them a safe trip :ok:

When Sancho figures out, hog equals fight, he'll be hooked, LOL, hopefully not literally. Just tie them outside the pen and let them watch for a good while. I guarantee after watching a few dogs work they will be bouncing off the leash to get their own. You never know Sancho may even learn to work with other dogs. I have seen some very dog aggressive pits loses all sense of desire to dogfight just to wreck cattle, of course, I have seen some that didn't, LOL.

Sounds and looks like, Sancho, will have a very fun year,

Sam

1,580 miles in two days... I for one am a little tired. these two are still working on it. a big meal in them and they're still at it.. I wish I could play the sound effects of what is going on outside my office..

Brick is the spittin image of Sancho, I will be working on getting some more meat on his bones if he's ever going to be a weight puller, lol.. this dog jumps like a kangaroo, I watched him clear a 4' fence and his back legs arched clear over his back. uh, I wonder if his hips are ok...

anyway home safe and sound, I guess I'll have some more pics to take and a lot to figure out. good grief they're going at it..

I'm so glad you made it home ok Joe. We have been thinking a lot about you and your new little cute family. Bessie and Brick look like they have been having a lot of fun :) We haven't seen Sancho in person since Dave moved to AZ but that is so cool that he looks like Uncle Sancho. Brick's brindle looks just like his grandma "Jazzy" and from the pictures, Sancho looks just like Jazzmin. :)

Did you get to see Maddie? Che's brindle looks almost identicle to Maddie's brindle. Maddie is such a sweetie. We really miss her after her visits. :(

besides eating and sleeping, this is the scene around here pretty much non-stop. I can hear them outside now. Brick is transitioning over to his new raw diet. I'm adding extra fat, he's probably just burning it all off.

trying to figure out where to go from here. fitting harnesses, new leashes, club arrangements. and how on earth do you walk 225 lbs. of dog headed in two different directions?!

Joe, it doesn't matter if the images are blurry or not. I don't think it is very responsible to show images of two presa locked in an obvious death match. This could very easily send the wrong message about what our club stands for. For God's sake, chain them or kennel them on opposite ends of your property and don't let them see each other lest some horrible calamity befalls the two of them, or they team-up on you. It's obvious you don't have any idea of what you are doing, and should immediately contact a professional dog trainer. What were you thinking? Now we are ALL DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, now that we have all the proper warnings and prophecies of doom and destruction out of the way. Congratulations, on your new addition it looks like they are getting along great. I see, Bessie is sharing her sleeping bag what a nice girl, LOL. Have fun!

Sam LOL ... they spent all day yesterday in a "death match" and are both totally crusted over with dog drool. Their fur feels like astro-turf. he he. They are at it now. They slept together last night and took them out for a run this morning, four miles around the neighborhood. I am on a low budget this week so just tied two nylon leashes together - want to get a neoprene skijouring belt to run them with. I tried to get them to run them in a double lead but Brick kept wanting to stay at heel, I guess he doesn't understand how to line out yet. So Bess pretty much dragged him the whole way by his collar, lol, and the three of us ended up running in a diamond formation. Worked out pretty well. Brick's eating whatever I put in front of him, which is good, he's not a picky eater. For weight pull I'd like to get him to 124-125 lbs. At this rate he's probably going to lose weight. Heh. Man I'll tell you, he's got to be the fastest, highest jumping Presa I've ever seen. Maybe when Sancho was a lad, I don't know. Just need to build up some endurance now, I'd say for the first hundred yards he could leap frog over Bess but after that she owns him. :P

Hey Joe,

I really wish you could of met Brick's grandpa (Banot). He was so fast and had so much spunk in him. Ask Dave about Banot's athletic ability. Brick SR. is pretty fast also.

It also looks like Bessie finally let Brick sit on her couch :P

Glad to see they're having a blast. I think two is easier than one sometimes! I'm glad you're having fun, too. Keep us posted!

I'm happy to keep you posted, but careful what you ask for ... I could go on forever, heh.. last night was bath night, these dogs STANK. what I do is close the blinds and strip down and toss them into the shower and climb in with them. Bess went first - figured poor Brick would have a little time to get used to the idea. He actually did really well, though he wasn't about to climb into that tub by himself. But he enjoyed a good scrub and they both were very pleased with themselves afterwards..

Trying to load him up on fat, got some pig trimmings, basically raw belly fat, starting him on 1/4 lb with breakfast. Introducing him to chicken wings this evening, we'll see what he thinks of that. So far, he eats everything.

They do wrestle a lot, Brick has amorous intentions and Bess is quite sharp about rejecting his advances, but golly he is persistent.

Found a PP club about 40 miles from here, they have APBTs and Corso's there. Probably check them out next weekend.

Joe
