In the private forum for the specialty, we have started a topic that would be educational for everyone to see.
RuthyPost:I also have one question. I would like to get Che' into weight pulling but Rob has some reservations. He thinks it is hard on the dog's hips and might cause problems. Any advise? If I can talk Rob into pulling, we would order a harness for Che' and you could use that

Joe's post:
if you have crap dogs this might be an issue. otherwise, read this....

I agree with Joe. If weight pulling is bad then weight lifting is bad, running is bad and sports of any nature would be bad. There is a certain risk with getting up each morning, but most people and dogs manage this okay. I would think that if a presa's hips can't handle weight pulling then it shouldn't be bred, because it is weak (just my opinion).
Order Che' a harness and get him started (or all your dogs) pulling a tire along while you go for a walk. Gotti, would pull two truck tires for 1 mile at a fast run on asphalt. If we were going on a short walk I would put three tires on behind him. I enjoyed walking him more if he had something to pull, chilled him out a little, LOL.

Hey Guys. Rob read the articles and we are going to order a harness for Che'! Rob also informed me that there is a weight pulling club in Salt Lake. They mostly have Pits and he has seen them working at Liberty Park. I guess they wanted him to get Banot working but he had his reservations......I wish he would of told me that earlier lol
