The Presas of Sabin, from Romania

Hi all, as you know we have a Presa enthusiast also in Romania.
His name is Sabin and maybe you remember of the beautiful pics of his Presa Gita de Irema Curtò. He has an album here http://www.elpresa.com/gallery/albums.php , even if he never registered...(but he will) ;)

I found in my mail box (in the messages of some months ago :oops: ) some "new" pics of the new Presa of Sabin, Popa de Irema Curtò, and new pics of Gita. So, now I have updated his album and uploaded the pics.

Glad to hear that Sabin is OK ! What does he use his dogs for ? Do you know what laws ,if any, in Romania about Presa ownership ?

In romania there are no laws that involve presa.
U do not let police know u have a presa like is the case of dogo argentino, mastino, cane corso, amstaff etc...
Also in Romania pitbulls, buerbulls and bonoggs are prohibited, the reprodution is illegal and current dogsfrom these breeds or varieties must me castrated.
Regarding presa probably the one who made the law were ignorant of did no t know about the breed. Is true here are only few presas too.
still to force malinois owners to go to police and register their dog and let presa out of this..is stupid in my opinion. Lack of profesionalism.
Anyway, the only rule regarding big and powerfull dogs, presa included, is to wear muzlle protection and to be walked in leash IN PUBLIC.
SO not free dogs on the park or on the street and no free muzzle, tht to protect people from dog attack.

We had some problems few years ago with one or 2 pittbull like dog attack on childs. Press made a real big deal on it so these kind of dogs were prohibited.
ALso another bad incident happened. 2 rottweilers with puppies kept in a large yard were the "heroes".
The owners had that house as vacation house at the mountain resort and use them for protection of property. the owners came there onlyin weekends some time but not even every weekend. The dogs were cared by a neighbor, an old man that was not experienced dog owner.

at one point when the couple of dogs had pups, the old man came to feed them. The male attacked him and the man died, unfortunately.

Bad history that hurried the law in this current form.

Still in romania as in every country are many out of standard dogs, non tested for psychicall issues.....rotts, german shepheard, boxers, etc....moeny rush of so called "breeders".... put together with owners lack of knoledge on canine behaviour and lack of caring about their dogs....

The law is not good but still, i prefer it to nothing.
