I was wondering how the female trudy gained so much white with time? the patch on her chest is completely differentbetween the first photo's and the most current photo's, and also there is now white on the toes. i wasn't aware that this could happen.

Hi all, just to clear up a few things, the dog with the most black is Trudy, the dog with the white socks and bigger white flash on the chest is Minnie they are litter sisters from Irema Curto's Nester X Irema Curto's Gara. there was a mistake made when the names where put to the pictures.
John is a very good friend of mine and like my self very busy with work and our dogs and don't get much time to get on here to post, but we read as much as we can and fined your forums a wealth of information.
The pup in the album is a dog called Stomper he is out of Irema Curto's Vento and fly, I own his litter brother, I also have 2 bitches 1 from Trudy and 1 from Minnie, they are all proving to be excellent animals, we are trying to do everything by the book at this end here in the uk, heath screening and hip scoreing so that the stock poduced are healty mentally stable dogs. Don't know if espo remembers me, we had quite a few chats on the old forum site before it changed over, going to try and get some pic's posted of our dogs in the uk. There all grown up now espo, they were only weeks old when we last spoke.
All the best to you all for now, and keep up the good work, its still the best site on the net for the proggress of the Perro de Presa Canario
EXCELLENT!!!

Hi there, done it at last, i am on here better late than never. I typed in the new code and bingo you guys are stuck with me now ! . Dave from Raptor Kennels has already told you the script with Trudy and Minny ( there original names when i got them off Manuel was Kena & Kasi ) i also bought 2 others from him, again 2 sisters Fly and Eta there original names were Jana and Juana and they were out of Tina and from Nestor. I kept a number of dogs back from the 3 litters we had and have just about got all the results back of the tests, hips, elbows , eyes , thyroid , blood , ect ect, so far things are looking very good , so when i have all the data in i will make it public for all to see. I will try and get some more pictures taken this weekend whether permitting of the others we have so you can see what we have on this side of the pond. I look forward to sharing our experiances with the Presas on this forum in the future now that i can at last log on, bye for now my beds pulling been a long day, J7.

In this picture you can see "Ebony". She is out of Trudy and Irema Curtos Argos, d.o.b is 09/05/02, the guy holding her ( because she would be a blur all round the lawn ) is Dave from Raptor knls. She has no white on her at all anywere. She is a very dark brown not a pure black like my Minny is but you have to see them side by side to tell. She is about 40 kg in shape in the photo.

Isn't there a very harsh breed specific legislation in the UK ?

I mean : filas, dogo argentino, amstaff and apbt are not allowed over there.

What about presa's ? Just curious, that's all !

le presa
19th April 2004, 19:00
The presa is alowed in England and alowed to breed with (to my knowledge) but the breed is not recognized there which means the English Kennel Club does not give pedigrees, nor are they alowed on exhibitions. We once got an invitation with one of our dogs to attend Crufts, i contacted the Kennelclub and they basically told me that our breed was not wanted nor alowed on exhibitions.

Ah well, England has always been know to do things the opposit way, all the world (except maybe 1 or 2 countries) drives on the right side of the road but they dont  :P

Quite right, the Presa is not on the dangerous dogs list here in the UK (not yet anyway), and not for the foreseeable future, hopefully.
We are trying to make headway in getting the dogs kennel club registed over here along with the other popular breed we have, but unfortunately the system we have at the moment is quite Stringent and anything out of the ordinary seems to be a no go area. I would love to see the person who draws up all these rules sat cozy in front of the tv, late at nite, pipe and slippers with their little poodle ( no disrespect ) on their lap, then Mr burgular comes a creeping through their door. wot then.
We have made a bit of headway at least and the kennel club now recognizes the Perro de Presa Canario but only under the working trails registration, but at least you get a cirtificate with a kennel club name and a registration number, its a start.
Dave.

I hope they get a pedigree soon !

It's just, they look a lot like bandogges (pitbull/mastino or mastiff crosses), and I don't think most police guys know the difference.

In the Netherlands, any Amstaff , or crosses or similar looking dogs without FCI pedigree are considered to be pitbulls and are confiscated and put down.
