So today went very well, i walked the dogs around the property about 5 times, keeping Pharus on a choke and leash, took them back to the clearing and let them wrestle around for an hour and they are buddies now. i would not trust Pharus alone yet, and there is hostility near food or bones, but things are going to be fine :) .
Minos has bonded to me already, no problem, and comes running to his name. he is very curious and confident. he is on watch already!
he has lost a lot of weight over the last three weeks due to his living arrangements being changed( he was raised with a litter of Majoraro, but was taken from them 2 weeks ago. he stopped eating. also not eating for the 30 hour flight accentuated this. he has had two bowls of food , and lots of water. he weighs about 40lbs right now, but should be at about 50 for ideal weight.
size wise , Minos has feet as big as Pharus, his rib cage is almost as wide, but him being a soft puppy really made me realise how solid , powerful, and muscular Pharus is. she is a machine! Minos's head is almost as long , but not nearly as wide and muscular.he is going to be a monster though, i can guarenty.
i will try and get some nice outside shots, but it is tough to shoot and be the reefery at the same time :P .here are some relax time pictures.

It is nice to see the pictures of Minos all comfy in your home. You couldn`t ask for a better looking pup. His mask just blows me away !
I know how long you waited for him and how excited you are to have him.
There are no huge ears to the ground here , no Great Dane flews, No Basset hound Legs, no Boxer faces, just a very nice, authentic Perro de Presa Canario, exactly what you asked for ! ! Looking forward to meeting you in September, get your pull cart ready ! !

Is Pharus starting to adapt to Minos's presence?
hey Chris, things are going great, they are buddies now. the first night was a shocker for Pharus, she was in her pen all day, and very excited to see me home . when this "thing" climbs out of the truck all of a sudden it caught her off guard. now they sleep together and cruise the property. Pharus is a good example for Minos, she is fearless, confident and excellent guarding instinct. she is also very obedient, so teaching him the basics is no problem. he came house broken! :) :)
i played tug with a rope for an hour this morning and he also loves chasing a ball. he is very easy going, laid back inside. very active and curious outside. this is fun! :P

I am pleased to update that Minos and Pharus have become the best of friends now. it was a process of acceptence on Pharus's part, but she is a very nice dog, and it didn't take long for her to realise that she was still loved as much. they have a great time roaming the bush, wrestling , eating together, and even sharing bones. she even presents him with her toys when he is tired and laying down,, to coax him up to play again. they sleep together at night now also. if he is exploring on his own and she looses site of him, she barks and runs around to find him out of concern for his safety. i forgot how fun it was to have a pup in the house, and am loving every minute of it. i want to thank the Curto family from the bottom of my heart for sending me such a lovely , well raised animal.( still no accident in the house either, got love when they come house broken!) :P :D :P :D :)

I knew they would do great together Todd. :ok: From my observation, and experience, there tends to be less problems with 2 dogs if the female is the older dog.

I am alarmed that you take such a cavalier attitude !! your dogs will surely kill each other at the first opportunity !!!, lets avoid a tragedy here and now, they fought before !!!, they will fight again ! ! . It is obvious that you know nothing about introduction, socilaization, or aggression ! ! :D
Todd , great job ! Beautiful Dogs ! You got to be lovin it !

That's funny Dave! :)
Todd, those are great pictures. I love the mirror one and the one where they're doing the open mouth thing. I'm glad to hear they're getting along. Mine are too now, although Valor ate a windowsill yesterday (bad dog). Keep the pics coming!
Both dogs are beautiful. Love the markings on Minos.

took both dogs to the vet today for a check up and all is well. Pharus weighed 98lbs. and Minos weighed 56lbs. his weight is very impressive considering he came only weighing 44lbs. that was one week ago, so he is making very good progress. the vet was very impressed with his health, and both dogs behaved perfectly amunst all the other patients in the waiting room. i am going to start the advantage program for fleas on both of them to night.
