Schutzhound training

Can anyone tell me what Schutzhound is? I've seen posts about training but can not find out exactly what type of training it is.

there is also the USA, United Schutzhund Clubs of America, of which I am a member. I wish I wasn't. Their web site is crappy and they are hopelessly lost, internationally and internally. DVG is more open to other breeds (other than German Shepherds), but their trials are a bit more formal. The rules are slightly different.
