Our Presa, Alexa, is now about 10 weeks old. We were wondering at what age is it best to start seriously obedience training her. IE. sit, stay, come, heel, watch, and all else that goes with obedience. We had another dog in the past and we never took him to any classes. He was also a little older when we got him and was already very well behaved. But we know with this breed, they are much more in need of a job and work to keep them happy, so we are really considering taking her to classes, but not sure when would be appropriate. We work with her now to get used to the words, but she only responds when she wants to. We want her to be the best she can be (and no, neither of us was in the Army :D ), and the happiest she can be, but we don't want to push her too soon. Thank you!

I have Paylee signed up for a puppy class starting March 15. We haven't taken her out much on the advice of Dave and our Vet until she gets her 2nd set of shots which will be the first week of March. After she gets those shots, we are taking her everywhere we can to socialize her with different situations.

Amber, I think it is fine to start training the basics now. Alexa has hopefully settled in to your household now so she will be a lot more receptive of training.

Paylee has got the potty thing (mostly) figured out. We are starting next week teaching her to sit and stay.

Good luck and keep us posted :ok:
