The UKC recognized the Perro de Presa Canario a few months ago.
This means that all UKC Registered Perros de Presa can compete in UKC sanctioned events in their area. THe UKC sanctions events for dog lovers to compete in with their companions. Among these events are Confirmation,Weight Pull, Agility,Obedience, and soon, Personal Protection. This will be a great opportunity for Presa owners to show the general public what a special breed this is. The Presa is certainly physically gifted and mentally suitable for a variety of tasks. We invite all Presa Canario owners to join the UPPCC and get involved ! ! The UPPCC is having our first gathering in September 2003 at Purina Farms, It will be the largest gathering of Presa Canario dogs in the country. We have invited a very special guest to critique our dogs(Senor Manuel Curto Gracia from Tenerife, Canary Islands) , we will have a confirmation show , we will have demo`s and seminars for those who want to get into a specific event and have questions, we will have "how to" guides for each UKC recognized activity. Only UPPCC registered dogs will be able to participate in our Specialty . We will wrap up the event with a nice banquet. Our guest speaker is Manuel Curto Gracia and Valeria will serve as his translator. It is especially important that you have your dog PennHipped or OFA`d if you want a critique by Senor Gracia.
